The untold part
He did not begin with money.
He began by cleaning a stranger.
Out of the army after six years in a special unit, with no business and no plan, he took the only job going. Caring for an old man in a modest house. A man who could not speak and could not control his own body.
The woman he replaced had lasted two months. The family did not want to be involved.
He decided he was going to fall in love with the work. He cleaned the man with his whole heart. Then he painted the house. Fixed the lights. Bought what was needed out of his own pocket, and he did not have much.
Weeks later a well dressed businessman knocked. The old man's son. He looked around at a house that smelled clean and worked properly and asked who had done it, and who had paid for it.
“No one. I did it. It is my job. I want to make him feel good.”
By thirty‑one he had made his first hundred million dollars. He has been building companies ever since, and teaching the same thing the whole way.
That the gold was never in the money. It was in what he decided to do with a job nobody wanted.
